Facebook Augments its Design Prowess
In a bid to strengthen it design expertise, Facebook has acquired the Design team of “Sofa” – the Amsterdam based software Company. The company designed icons for Mozilla, 280 North, such as Kaleidoscope, Versions, Checkout and Enstore.
Facebook has only acquired the team and not Sofa’s products. According to Kate Aronowitz, Facebook Director of Design, “We were just blown away by the Sofa team’s work, from their Mac and web software to the interfaces and brand identities they created for clients,”
The Sofa team will soon be moving to Facebook’s Headquarters in Palo Alto. So lets wait and see how this team can bring fresh creativity, simplicity and beauty to this popular social networking site.
