Nokia to Launch Windows Phone 7 Devices First in Europe
Good news for Nokia fans in Europe that Nokia intends to target Europe for the launch of its Windows Phone devices. Nokia Europe’s VP Victor Saeijs has identified 6 European countries where these phones will first become available. The countries include the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and The Netherlands. The announcement was made at the 2011 Mobile Telecom paper conference. Surprisingly Finland, the home of Nokia is absent from the list.
The Nokia’s Windows Phone devices are branded with “W”. The first handset is expected to be a variant of Nokia’s X7 device. The phone will have Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. The windows phone devices will offer enhanced multitasking. Other features include Bing integration, Windows Live Messenger Support, Facebook and AIM chat, visual voicemail, and Microsoft’s cloud storage service.
