The final version of Firefox 5 is ready although it is expected to release on June 21. But you can download it from Mozilla’s FTP servers. On the surface it looks almost like Firefox 4 but does offer certain improvements, the main one being “Do Not Track” features which tell websites not to gather any details from users.

Firefox 5 features:

  • Improved support for HTML 5
  • Enhanced support for CSS animations
  • Improved spell checking for some locales
  • Improved canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance
  • Better desktop environment integration for Linux users
  • The Firefox development channel switcher, which was introduced in previous Firefox Beta updates has been removed.
  • The Do-Not-Track header preference moved to improve discoverability
