At last! Nokia reveals its MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan N9, a buttonless smartphone with a 3.9-inch AMOLED display along with a curved Gorilla Glass front. It is powered by OMAP 3630 1GHz processor and has 16GB or 64GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. It boasts of an 8-megapixel autofocus camera, which can record 720p HD at 30 frames per second. It comes with a quad-band GSM radio, a penta-band WCDMA radio, along with NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1.

The Nokia N9 weighs 135g, is said to give you a battery life of 50 hours for music, 4.5 hours watching 720p video, or between seven and 11 hours of chatting.

The N9 is giant leap from the traditional phones; foregoing buttons, it introduces swipe gestures which help users get back to the home view by simply swiping fingers.

The phone comes fully loaded with Angry Birds Magic, Galaxy on Fire 2, Real Golf 2011, and OpenGL ES 2.0 as well as a Maps app. There is a unified centre for Facebook notifications.

The N9 comes in a polycarbonate shell, which offers more durability and safety from scratches. The entire phone is built into a shell which means users may no be able to replace battery on their own and furthermore the microSD cannot be expended. The MicroSIM card can however, be swapped without rebooting the handset.

The Nokia N9 with its beautiful elevated display screen, polycarbonated tough shell and unique swipe feature is a definite treat. No release date has yet been announced by Nokia. So stay tuned and we will keep you updated on that end.
