We reported the release of Final Cut Pro X, the updated version of Apple’s professional editing suite a few days ago. The update had come after a period of two years and was priced at $299.99.

We were hoping that it would be a huge success. But it seems like the opposite is happening and Apple is in fact now even in the process of refunding to users. The entire interface has been changed making it less exciting for professional editors to work with. Apparently support for old files is also missing.

Although Apple’s sales are final but according to EOSHD Apple is responding to dissatisfied customers and returning their money:

“Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your email, as we have been receiving higher volumes than usual. This is certainly not the customary time for a response and your understanding is greatly appreciated. I’m sorry to hear that the apps ‘Compressor’ and ‘Final Cut Pro X’ you purchased on the Mac App Store is not functioning as expected. I know how special your purchases are and I regret for the inconvenience caused. I will try my best to resolve this issue. Garrett, at your request, I have refunded the apps and in five to seven business days, a credit of $380.08 should be posted to the Visa card that appears on the receipt for that purchase.”

With so much hue and cry over the product, Apple will have to act swiftly and bring out updates to Final Cut Pro X or else it will lose customers to Adobe.
