Google releases Maps 5.7 for Android
Google has released the Google Maps 5.7 for Android including the Beta version of its Transit Navigation, which provides GPS stop-by-stop navigation to over 400 cities globally. The version is available through an update.
You no longer have to worry about locating a bus stop or subway, Google Maps Transit Navigation will guide you and not only that but it also gives you directions as to where you should get off. The Navigation bar also gives alerts in case you are busy doing something else on your device.
Still another exciting feature, “Download Map Area” allows the download of maps for offline use. The feature is available in the Labs section where you need to enable the Download Map Area option. Google has used a vector-based system for this feature. The vector-based tiles can be downloaded faster and also take little storage space on your device.
Quickly upgrade your Google Maps app to its latest version to enjoy the new and exciting features. You will need Android 2.1 or above to get the update.
