Microsoft Accidentally unveils it Social Search, Tulalip
Looks like Microsoft is also giving a try to social search services, since yesterday a test version of a social search service appeared at www.socl.com, a domain owned by Microsoft as reported by Winrumors. The site was accidentally revealed since Microsoft was to pull it offline.
The site is code named Tulalip, which actually is the name of group of Native American tribes. A message on the site’s home page read, “With Tulalip, you can Find what you need and Share what you know easier than ever,”
The site was definitely not meant for the world at this point as it contained many design and grammatical errors. The domain now displays the message, “Thanks for stopping by. Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web. We didn’t mean to, honest.”
The site also featured Facebook and Twitter sign-in options, which gave the signal that Microsoft was not going to launch another social networking site but would rather piggy back on already established players in the field.
