Windows Phone 7 Mango Reaches RTM
The latest cersion of the Windows Phone 7, Mango has reached the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) stage which signifies the end of Microsoft’s development cycle of the mobile OS.
According to the Windows Phone blog:
This marks the point in the development process where we hand code to our handset and mobile operator partners to optimize Mango for their specific phone and network configurations. Here on the Windows Phone team, we now turn to preparing for the update process. The Mango update for current Windows Phone handsets will be ready this fall, and of course will come pre-installed on new Windows Phones.

Mango was announced in May this year by Microsoft with improved communication, app multitasking, and Internet browsing. It also includes new features like Threads which is a combination of text IM and Facebook chat and a mobile version of Internet Explorer 9 with advanced HTML5 support.
How the market responds to Mango in the presence of Android and iOS will be an interesting study. Hopefully Mango will create its own niche in the market.
