Adobe Launches Edge HTML5 Web Animations Tool
Adobe has launched the public preview of web motion and animation tool called Adobe Edge. Edge helps users create animated stuff while using HTML5, CSS and Javascript and not Flash. Edge is not aiming to substitute Dreamweaver or Flash, rather it intends to exist side by side with these tools. The new animation tools will in fact broaden Adobe’s customer base and help it lead in the world of Web infrastructure since HTML5 is gradually becoming more important.
Adobe actually wants to support both Flash and the HTML5 platform. This is evident from the fact that it released a Flash-to-HTML5 converter last year was meant to support the HTML platform.
Edge is available for free since Adobe wants to know how the developer community responds to the new design too.
