Facebook Brings New Features to Games
The battle is on! While Google+ brings the much awaited feature of Games to life, Facebook decides it cannot just sit back and let Google+ control the drive. So it also offers some new features to Facebook games.
The new changes include a live game ticker on the Canvas Page which will keep users updated regarding their friends’s accomplishments, high scores, and other activities on apps and games. This will make the Games more alive and engaging for users.
According to Facebook,
“We automatically generate ‘playing’ and ‘using’ stories in the ticker when friends use an app or play a game respectively helping users re-engage and discover new games and apps that their friends are using. These are generated for apps that have enabled Social Discovery in their Developer App settings.”
There is now also the choice to increase the size of your apps based on your screen resolution. Thus games like Cityville, Monster World, Mystery Manor and others have the “Fluid Canvas”. The Fluid Canvas can be enabled by selecting “fluid” for “Canvas Width” in apps settings.
Furthermore you can now bookmark your favorite games and apps making them easily accessible through News Feed. You can also decide which games story appears on your stream by adjusting your settings.
With the two social networking giants engaged in a hot battle by bringing in ever engaging features, the users continue to gain more in terms of better and improved features. So lets wait and see what new stuff awaits us!
