Apple 99 Cent TV Rentals Exist No More on iTunes
Apple has terminated its TV rentals option from iTunes. Now users only have the option of purchasing TV shows. The $0.99 rental service was introduced in last September where users could rent particular episodes of TV programmes. Apparently iTunes users have also shown more interest in purchasing TV shows rather than renting them out which gave them a 30-days period to watch a programme and 48 hours to finish the episode once they started watching it.
With Apple giving its users the option to re-download their purchased shows on their iOS devices as well, the utility if renting shows seemed even less appealing.
According to Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr “iTunes customers have shown they overwhelmingly prefer buying TV shows. iTunes in the Cloud lets customers download and watch their past TV purchases from their iOS devices, Apple TV, Mac or PC allowing them to enjoy their programming whenever and however they choose.”
So why rent something for 99 cents for a limited period only when you can purchase it for $2 or $3 and then watch on any of their idevices any time you want to.
