Facebook Introduces Timeline: The Story of Your Life [Video]

Just a few hours back at the f8 conference Mark Zuckerberg introduced a highly dynamic and revolutionary idea in fact – the Timeline. This new feature is to replace your existing profile, which according to Zuckerberg only represents the lat 5 minutes of your life.

Timeline on the other hand captures your entire life’s events starting right from your birth. Amazing isn’t it!

“This is the heart of the Facebook experience, completely rethought from the ground up. We’re calling it ‘Timeline,” said Zuckerberg, “Timeline is the story of your life: all your stories, all your apps and a new way to express who you are.”

The Timeline presents a visual history of all that you are – what you have done, where you have been. It’s all about you right from the time you were born. It’s your real-time profile unlike the current static profile displaying only the current situation that you are in.

Users alone will decide about the privacy settings of their Timelines. They will be in control of the content they want to display on it, people who will be able to see the Timelines etc.

Facebook will be rolling out the Timeline within the next few weeks. So stay tuned!
