Apple to Discontinue iPod Classic and Shuffle?
With the release of iPhone 5 due on October 4, it looks like Apple is all geared up to barge ahead into the future with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch as its core products while discarding older gadgets. According to TUAW Apple may discontinue manufacturing of it popular iPod classic and shuffle.
iPod Classic which hails from pre-iPhone era is a hard drive-based and with flash-based memories in vogue, its discontinuation seems logical. The Shuffle on the hand is basically the iPod nano but without the screen. It has been a very popular Apple device with teenagers, athletes etc with its vibrant rainbow colors and small form factor. With iPod shuffle gone there would no longer be any idevice without a screen.
