Google’s next Android update the Ice Cream Sandwich has been a subject of much speculation as well as eager wait for months. Along with it the accompanying ICS smartphone Nexus Prime has also been much discussed and in fact it was inadvertently confirmed by Samsung by way of a cease and desist email sent out by Samsung to a person in possession of the phone’s firmware.

Now it seems that all our wait is over and Google would finally be bringing out both its Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich as well as the Nexus Prime on October 11. Samsung has started sending out invite for a joint Samsung/Google event on 11th Oct in San Diego. As you can see in the image, it’s all about “what’s new from Android.”So it is easy for us to make out what the event would actually be about.

The best part about ICS is that it will be bringing a unified platform for both mobiles phones as well as tablets. The earlier leaked pictures of Ice Cream Sandwich also show that the new Interface seems to have been adjusted just for that since it seems more spacious with more distance between app icons and their names.

The Nexus Prime is expected to have Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280×720, dual-core 1.5 GHZ SoC from Texas Instruments, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE connectivity.

For all the Android lovers out there, the wait almost about to end and they would soon be able to experience the latest update of Android!
