Ice Cream Sandwich Running on Nexus S Leaked [Video]
Earlier we reported Ice Cream Sandwich would be announced on October 11 at a joint Samsung/Google event. Now we have got a video appearing on the internet of Nexus S apparently running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Apparently a customer ordered a Nexus S on eBay and when he received the package guess what! It was powered by no other operating system but Ice Cream Sandwich. The story came from Engadget:
“As the story goes, a lucky gent ordered a Samsung Nexus S on eBay and, upon its arrival, noticed that his new prized possession looked a little… different. Hopping over to the About screen, he was shocked to discover that the device was running ICS. The firmware appears to be operating on the same baseband as the screenshots leaked a few weeks ago, but it’s running on an updated build (IRK48) and kernel (3.0.1).”
The story does seem a little far fetched no doubt and no one can really confirm that it is actually a genuine video. The UI does seem somewhat close
to both Gingerbread and Honeycomb. You also get a vertical honeycomb-style multitasking menu when you press the home button long enough. The redesigned notification bar, new app launcher and the Google-blue theme do seem to be in sync with the earlier leaked pictures of ICS.
But it is still hard to qualify it as a genuine and not fake.
An update posted on Engadget says that the gentleman later informed that his Nexus S was “remotely locked and wiped”. Whatever that means we leave to your imagination. In he mean time enjoy the video below:
