Steve Jobs is No More! (1955 – 2011)
The tech world faces the greatest tragedy of all! Apple’s co-founder and Chairman has expired at a young age of 56 only. He was the driving force behind Apple’s success. He was the visionary who brought Apple to the status where it stands today. He co-founded Apple along with Steve Wozniak in a small garage in 1976. During the next 35 year he simply revolutionized the technology world with Apple’s various gadgets. There was no looking back for him.
He introduced Apple II in 1976, which was an instant hit in the personal computing world and came to be known as “the personal computer revolution.” This was the start of Apple’s glorious journey, which is marked by such milestones as the Macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad.
It was only last in August this year that Jobs resigned as Apple’s CEO and was then nominated as Chairman Apple’s Board of Director. The decision came as a result of his ill health. He had been fighting cancer since 2004. He took a leave of absence on medical grounds in 2009 to get a liver transplant. He again went on leave this year from January to March.
And now he has taken a permanent leave of absence from all!
Following is a statement from Jobs family:
“Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family.
In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve’s illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories.
We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief.”
