Winrumors has prepared a [...]]]> Nokia’s latest flagship Windows Phone Lumia 800 has only been recently unveiled. The phone has the outer look of Nokia’s N9 and features a 1.4 GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage and 25GB of free SkyDrive space. There is also a Carl-Zeiss, f2.2 aperture camera, which works well even in dim lights.

Winrumors has prepared a video that compares WP7 Lumia 800 with HTC’s WP7 phones the Titan and Radar.

Titan comes with a 7″ SLCD display with 480×800 pixels and features 1.5GHz single-core processor, 16 GB of internal storage and 8MP rear camera with LED flash.

HTC Radar which is the lower end of the pair of phones, has a 3.8” SLCD display with 480×800 resolution, Single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It has a camera of 5MP.

According to Winrumors:

“The Lumia 800′s screen stands out above the two HTC devices due to its beautiful AMOLED brightness and curved glass. However, the Lumia 800 lacks a forward facing camera, Internet Sharing (for now) and some extra camera modes that HTC have opted to include in both of their Windows Phone 7.5 devices.”

Conversation view has a [...]]]> Google has brought some radical changes to its Gmail giving more control to users so that they can change the look and feel according to their choice. These changes were announced via a blog post on Tuesday. Users will find a Switch to the new look in the bottom-right of Gmail.

Conversation view has a new design now with profile pics appearing next to email threads.

Users can also choose the density on their screen manually on decide whether they want more or less space between their emails.

Users can also choose from a variety of HD background pictures.

“Themes have been completely rebuilt to enable us to bring you a new set of beautiful high resolution themes with imagery provided by iStockphoto.”

The navigation bar on the left has also been made more customizable so that users can adjust labels and chat areas. Arrow keys can now be used to navigate through the interface.

Another new feature is the search feature – users will now have access to Advanced Search by simply clicking the search bar.

“Click the dropdown in the search box to see a new advanced search panel, which makes it easier and faster to find exactly what you’re looking for. You can use the same panel to create a filter from any search in just a few clicks.”

The pinch and zoom style to [...]]]> Nokia world 2011 was not only about the introduction of new Windows phones Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, in fact Nokia used the occasion to showcase its futuristic prototype phones “Kinectic Devices.” These sport flexible screens which can be bent both horizontally and vertically to get your desired results.

The pinch and zoom style to change the screen size are being replaced by bending and twisting motions which allow you to zoom in or out, select, navigate or even reject calls etc.

Now according to the Japanese website Macotara Apple has finished testing the LCD component of the [...]]]> It was reported way back in July that Apple was working on a 15-inch Mac Book Pro/Air hybrid. It was indeed supposed to be a Mac Book pro with an ultra-thin design like the Mac Book Air.

Now according to the Japanese website Macotara Apple has finished testing the LCD component of the new machine and would soon move into its production. While Macotara has repote that it will be a Mac Book Air, it is believed that actually it will be the next generation Mac Book Pro.

The new line will however, come without the built-in optical disk drive according to the same source.

“Apple is considered to develop next generation of MacBook Pro which will not have built-in optical-disk drive, then this MBA 15′ test component seems to fill their new drive-less MB line-up.”

It was only last week that Apple quietly brought out 5 new Mac Book Pros with faster processors.

So it seems that we will be witnessing some major design overhaul of the Pro line in 2012!

But this [...]]]> Siri, the voice-activated assistant which came exclusively to iPhone 4S was later ported to iPhone 4S and iPod Touch by developers. Sure it was good news but there was a little caveat – Apple servers were all quiet and would not communicate with Siri coming from any device other than the iPhone 4S.

But this problem too has been removed and Apple’s severs are now completely talking to the ported Siri now. Developer Troughton-Smith exclusively shared videos with 9t05Mac showing comparison between Siri’s performance on iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 and another video showing Siri fully functional on iPod Touch.

9to5Mac have also posted an interview with Troughton-Smith where he talks about the port:

“Yes, it seems to be 100% functional. I’m working on the rough edges, but everything that works on the iPhone 4S seems to work here.”

He further made it clear that he would not be part of making it available on Cydia as it was “quasi-illegal” and said that “I am only interested in the technology and making it work.”

Pre-orders will start on November 4 while the phone will become available on November 15.

The countries include Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania and South Korea.

Customers in Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama will not have the option of pre-orders available in their regions.

By the end of the year iPhone 4 S will be available in more than 70 countries.

Ripples is basically “a visualization tool for public shares and comments.” It allows users to re-live all the conversations, comments and shared stuff during the short history of Google+.

“To get started, just find a public post that interests you, and select “View Ripples.” From there you can replay its activity, zoom in on certain events, identify top contributors and much more. Google+ Ripples is still experimental, so let us know how we can make it more informative and more awesome.”

Google is rolling out this feature gradually so it may not be available to all of you rout there.

Google+ also now offers its users another feature, which lets them see the hot stuff on Google+.

“What’s Hot” has been added just below new posts and there is a new menu item on the right side of the page. You need to sign in and out to see what’s hot.

“Other possibilities include some of the stuff Google is about to roll out for Gmail proper: like contact icons, better threading, and deep searching functionality. Maybe there will even be some Google+ integration, which Google is also hard at work on for Gmail.”

The native app is apparently already submitted to Apple for review so we will just have to wait for some time till the app gets publicly available.
